Frontier States

The frontier states of the Republic of the Winter are vast, underpopulated, and difficult to protect. Logistically supporting forces here is difficult as much of the land is shared with tribes and vulnerable to hazards of the old world. Although the entirety of the Republic of the Winter struggles with the fallen world, the frontiers are especially deadly as many settlements must rely on themselves. Insectoids, mechanoids, raiders, and other threats that have been purged or are mostly contained within' the core states remain a serious threat. However, they serve a vital role in the long-term power of the Republic. And as such, they do not lack for investments and attention from the core states.
